Dr Frank Obenaus

Executive Board Member for Water Management and Technical Services

We reliably perform, around the clock, the complex water management tasks for the people in our region. This includes the safe and environmentally friendly operation and maintenance of our wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations and special structures, as well as waterbody management and the associated flood protection. We plan and build our plants from the initial concept to the start of operation, using our own technical competence.

We support and address new water management topics with our expert knowledge – being on the one hand the adaptation to the climate change and its anticipated consequences requiring flood protection in case of heavy rainfall as well as an adapted urban development, and on the other hand the ageing population directly influencing the water cycle due to the increased use of medicines, and the whole subject of water and energy with its considerable future potential. In doing so, we rely on the sustainable use of state-of-the-art technology in the digital age to live up to our claim of quality, safety and resource efficiency.

Technical innovation and ecological sustainability, but in particular also economic optimisation, are the goals of our work. This is what our members expect, and this is also how we understand our mission. We master this challenging objective with competence, commitment, creativity, and innovation. We are in continuous contact with one another and openly communicate new ideas, forthcoming problems, opportunities and risks.
