More than just water management – leisure and culture in a transforming region

The conversion of the Emscher and the Lippe involves a range of complicated planning, technical and logistical challenges that will permanently change an entire region. We regard ourselves primarily as river basin managers, but also as providing impetus, seeking to actively accompany processes of change beyond the waterways themselves and into areas such as living and working on the water, helping reshape the area by means of culture and leisure.

We provide a steady stream of information about the conversion of the Emscher system and the renewal of the Lippe and its tributaries at countless dialogue events, in brochures and on this Internet site.
