The Emscher conversion – a project extending across generations

The conversion of the Emscher system is a task of extraordinary dimensions, technically and financially. Several decades will pass between its kickoff and its completion. By then, an entire region will have changed its face, not only as a result of the restoration of waterways to their natural state, waterways that are highly valued as places of recreation, but also as a result of the many projects in adjoining areas that have been inspired by the Emscher conversion. One thing is a great help to us in managing this task: we’re not alone, we’re supported by countless partners. Partners in our cooperative ventures come from all levels, from the European Union to neighbouring municipalities, providing us with financial support and integrating their projects with our construction activities.
