River basin management on the Lippe:
The LIPPEVERBAND

Bringing nature back to the Lippe and its catchment areas on the basis of stable, functioning water management – that’s the main task of the LIPPEVERBAND as the manager of the lower and middle reaches of the Lippe and its tributaries. Flood protection, water discharge regulation, water flow balancing and wastewater treatment are important sub-tasks.

On the Lippe, we have already implemented a river basin management as stipulated by the European Union’s 2009 Water Framework Directive.
